synthesis will yield typically 0.1-0.2 micromole (100-200 nmole) final
product. Guaranteed minimum 50 nmole (shorter oligos) or 10 OD units (longer oligos), desalted, non-modified oligos. Standard purity
includes free desalting. Modified oligos may have considerably lower
yields. All oligos are quantified and three different units of measure
are provided to the customer. The exact relation between these three
units is calculated by a computer for each oligo; as a very rough approximation
for a 20 base long oligo, 100 nmole equals approx. 20 OD260 units, or 600
micrograms. Example of price calculation for one oligonucleotide, 20-mer,
100 nmole scale, 5'-end labeled with 6-FAM: 20 x 0.29 = 5.80 basic price
of the oligo, plus 29.00 for the 6-FAM, total = 34.80 USD.
